The Knapp Community Care Foundation (KCCF) is excited to welcome
Milly Hernandez as its new Director of Grants and Programs! In this pivotal role, Milly will oversee KCCF’s grantmaking initiatives, evaluate key investments, and spearhead strategic efforts to enhance community impact. Her extensive background in nonprofit management, business development, collective impact, and community engagement will be instrumental in shaping the Foundation’s strategies and driving transformative outcomes.
With over 20 years of experience in the education, workforce, business, and nonprofit sectors, Milly is a proven leader committed to fostering collaboration and innovation. She most recently served as Deputy Director for RGV FOCUS/Educate Texas, where she partnered with schools, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders to implement initiatives aligned with collective impact strategies, improving the quality of life across the Rio Grande Valley.
Her previous roles include Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD, where she managed state grant programs, developed industry-aligned curricula, and cultivated partnerships with higher education institutions and employers. Earlier in her career, she contributed to workforce readiness, professional training, grant development, and organizational management efforts at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and the University of Texas-Pan American.
In addition to her professional achievements, Milly serves as the District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Elks Texas South District Region. She is also the former Exalted Ruler of the McAllen Elks Lodge #1402, which supports programs for children, veterans, and families. Milly is the founder of LEAP for STEM, a nonprofit organization that advances STEM education. She holds a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas-Pan American.
With a career defined by innovation, collaboration, and measurable results, Milly is a dynamic addition to the KCCF team.
