KCCF Board Engaging With Our Partners

This has been a year full of Board engagement with site visits and events where we have witnessed and celebrated the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our nonprofit partners.

Knapp Community Care Foundation board members and staff attended the unveiling of MER-C, The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley's emergency response mobile unit providing meals and services to underserved communities in a crisis. Our team also attended the Edinburg Boys & Girls Club's San Carlos Kite Fun Fly Festival, bringing families and communities together to enjoy outdoor activities.

We witnessed the magnificent work that happens behind the scenes during a facility tour at The Boys and Girls Club of Weslaco, an organization well known for their positive impact on our youth.

In March, we participated in the Grantmakers in Health (GIH) Welcome Reception where we networked with GIH board and staff, Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation, Methodist Healthcare Ministries, and over 80 nonprofit organizations in attendance.

In April, we kicked off Child Abuse Prevention Month by attending the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo/Starr Counties' Pinwheel Ceremony, a national symbol of joy and hope for child abuse victims and their families.

Our board and staff were also in attendance at the Optimizing Health Outcomes Seminar, an event co-hosted with Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation, that provided an educational opportunity for hospital and clinical leadership from various entities in the Rio Grande Vally that focused on Non-Medical Drivers of Health Screening and addressed a new Texas mandate.

We are fortunate for the countless opportunities we have to witness the heart of our community through the nonprofits that we partner with.
